Friday Fun

Ladies Night at the Washington Nationals - Sounds like Fun!

I just received an email that I thought I’d share with my readers – at many places in the blogosphere, Fridays are reserved for fun - so this seems fitting.

On Thursday, August 14th, the Washington Nationals will be hosting what I think is their 2nd annual Ladies Night.  See the flyer below:

Sounds like a great opportunity (and at a sweet deal, too!) to go out and support our local baseball team with all your gal-pals - it says guys are welcome, but if it were me, I’d leave ‘em at home!

Enjoy the weekend – Happy Friday

Sacrificial Peeps — Happy Easter

…or Happy March 23rd if you are not an Easter celebrator.

Last week as I was reading the blog of one of my best cyber gal-pals, Teresa Boardman up in St. Paul Minnesota, I was inspired by her photo essay on peeps – her photos were hilarious and I threatened to have a little fun of my own.  Now I can’t hold a candle to her talents behind the camera, BUT….  read on…

I will tell you that my children were THRILLED to take part in this experiment with me - it involved exploding peeps in the microwave.  I took it one step further and decided to eat mine!  Good choice on my part!

Here they are all lined up prior to the big event:

The first thing you might notice is that mine had no eyes… guess where the eyes of my reject-peeps were – in the backs of their heads…

Peep parade 012

silly silly peeps – I guess this way they couldn’t see what was coming - good thing, I guess.  Their fate awaits…

In he went – the spinning probably helped to Dis-orient him before…

Oh, man…

In his final pose, he stared at me… right before I ate him!  ha ha ha

Here’s what happened to a buddy of his:

He was very brave…

but again, delicious!!

So, thanks to Teresa for a fabulous inspiration – we had a fun dessert tonight on what my daughter refers to as Easter Eve.  Have a wonderful day tomorrow.

Spooks, Goblins and ….. FEAR….

I wanted to write a post about the Halloween holiday and festivities right around the corner - you know, a cute little writeup about the different parades, parties, etc.. but the other day when I walked into my office building something frightened me and I’ve been afraid ever since.

No smoking in Parking GarageI thought it only fitting to share that with you today. I’m not sure if you can read the sign on the door - but it says

“DANGER - NO SMOKING - NO OPEN FLAMES - NO SPARKS”

Do you know what I saw? A woman was sitting on the yellow and black striped barrier SMOKING A CIGARETTE!!! Now I’m not sure what was behind that door but there is NO WAY I’d want to be blown through that parking garage - there are quite a few large concrete pillars – wouldn’t be too much fun to see one of those coming at you 400 miles/hour.

Anyway, I hurried inside hoping that the building didn’t blow. It’s been on my mind ever since – and it frightens me way more than goblins or ghosts!

BOO!

Happy Friday
